KAPU CALLING
North of Mangalore and South of Udupi, Kapu is perfectly nestled between surf schools on India’s west Coast. It’s proximity to the Manipal University and the stunning views from Kapu Lighthouse has made this quaint little beach not so shy of travellers any more… but for us this laid back town is both home on land and at sea. A tiny wreck, giant groupers, bioluminescent nights makes this rocky dive spot a dear one among those who’ve truly soaked in what Kapu or Kaup lighthouse beach has to offer.
A scuba day in Kapu or Kaup begins with you reporting at 7:45AM. Be it a Try Dive, Fun Dive or you doing the Open Water diver or an alternate course. We’re usually back at shore no later than 01:30PM on most days. The boat ride from shore takes about 30 - 45 minutes one way. The dive site here is fairly shallow, except for the Advanced Open Water or Advanced Adventurer Dive course that requires a depth past 18m. You can opt for Kapu as your dive destination…

Having that said. Kapu as of 2023’ has a lot more options for your stay catering to every budget and style than it did couple years ago… Heritage homes and beach homestays to beachside resorts and more commercial hotels with swimming pools. All of these listed online. Once you book your stay we can assist you with a couple of local rickshaw or taxi numbers incase your accommodation is not within a comfortable walking distance from the beach or the office of our dive partners
